[Bobby did say the door would be open, so Pyro just barges in, closing it heavily behind him. His fatigue and agitation are more evident in person, especially when he's not posturing for the network. Unlike Bobby, he hasn't bothered to bring any snacks or gifts - but that probably won't come as a surprise.]
Me and Euri had a fight. She's probably not talking to me again anytime this century. Happy?
Nothing! It was stupid, she just got uptight over nothing.
[He turns away, throwing his arms out at his sides.]
We were talking about her friend who showed back up, and then it turned to Kaz, the guy she was seeing but not seeing when I got here. He was a possessive dick, but he still wouldn't date her, and I didn't see why she'd put up with that.
[He whirls around to jab a finger at Bobby.]
And don't compare it to what we've g - had. What we had. I didn't try to put any claim on her when she had none on me.
[He drops his arm and turns away, pacing irritably.]
But then it all turned into how everyone she's dated has broken up with her, if they've wanted to be with her at all, and how she's not good enough - fuck's sake, it's not about that. I told her over and over again it wasn't about that. So finally I just said she could leave if I wasn't enough for her without some stupid title attached to me, and she did.
[His smirk is a pale shadow of its usual self when he looks back over his shoulder.]
It doesn't matter. [His hands clench into fists at his sides.] She's obsessed with being with someone, it's sick. It'll come down to this every time, no matter how many "arguments" we make up from.
[So why is that upsetting him? Why can't he just let her go, if that's the case?]
[His fists clench even tighter, carving small half-moons of blood into his palms; he can feel his skin trying to heal instantly, but doesn't move his fingers to allow it.]
Don't play stupid. That's worse than getting smug.
I'm not choosing! [His voice rises sharply, and he dearly longs for a candle to throw at the wall, but settles for smacking it with a flattened palm instead. There's the slightest smudge of blood left behind when his arm drops.] I said it all along, I'm not choosing. No one changes the rules on me.
[ After a moment, he joins John, sitting on the other end of the couch. There's a pause, before: ]
What about Oswin? [ Honestly, he's still upset with both of them for what happened earlier, but this conversation's too important to dwell on that now. ]
Why d'you think I said I'm not choosing? Oswin's still - [Fuck. There's no way to talk around this.] - she still means a lot to me. But Euri gets so much that Oswin has to work to understand. We have the same damage.
[ Yeah, but Euri will only push you further into that hatred you feel, he thinks. For the moment, he stays quiet to give John time to further express his emotions. ]

What'd you fight over?

Didn't you consider that it might be a sensitive topic for her?

Big surprise, huh?

She was upset. It's just an argument. We've had a million of 'em.
I'm sure you'll make up soon enough.

Calm down. I'm not asking you to choose.
But if this really is a deal breaker for both of you, you're gonna have to accept it.
no subject
No.
[This is it. He's not letting someone walk away on him. It's the closest he'll probably get to an admission that she actually matters.]
no subject
What's your plan? Somehow make her change her mind?

[His mocking sneer is as weak as his earlier smirk.]
I don't fucking know, dude. I have no idea.
